The music playing is an appropriate theme song for an animal rescue organization. We rely on LOVE to help us save lives, keep our doors open, our bills paid, and our animal welfare mission working.

*UP TO WHERE WE BELONG*
Joe Cocker and Jennifer Warnes

Who knows what tomorrow brings
In a world, few hearts survive
All I know is the way I feel
When it's real, I keep it alive
The road is long, there are mountains in our way But we climb a step every day

Chorus:
Love lift us up where we belong
Where the eagles cry on a mountain high
Love lift us up where we belong
Far from the world we know, up where the clear winds blow

Some hang on to "used to be"
Live their lives, looking behind
All we have is here and now
All our life, out there to find
The road is long, there are mountains in our way, But we climb them a step every day
Chorus:

Time goes by
No time to cry
Life's you and I
Alive, today

Joe Cocker & Jennifer Warnes

The Beebe Humane Society <http://www.beebehumanesociety.org> is a non-profit organization serving the White County area of Arkansas since February of 2003. This is the only Humane Society that will step outside the city limits in White County and help county animals. The Beebe Humane Society cover cruelty, abuse and neglect calls on a daily basis.

NEWS FLASH!!!    NEWS FLASH!!!    NEWS FLASH!!!

On January 31st, a sudden violent windstorm swept through Beebe and destroyed a 20' x 80' kennel building at the Humane Society. It was the occupied by 30+ dogs, just some of the residents at the shelter. Thankfully, none of the dogs was seriously injured but the homeless creatures who had been given refuge are now homeless again.

The front page newspaper article about this is at
http://www.beebenews.com/pages/013108p1.pdf

In the short-term, BHS has to find ways to care for the little refugees.  BHS does not have funding to afford to board these dogs or enough foster homes. That means a need for extra crates and exercise pens or portable kennels.

Once the short-term needs are met the re-building will start. The concrete foundation and septic system survived intact so the building can be reconstructed where it was, just as soon as the funding is in place.

There's so much in today's world that is wrong and it seems we can do nothing about it. The current situation at Beebe Humane Society is an emergency we CAN do something about. Here's a little simple math for you to calculate: if you donate $10 and you ask ten friends who also donate ten dollars, and they each ask ten friends, and so on for just ten "generations," how soon can we rebuild the kennel? In no time at all!!! Even those of us who are not wealthy can probably spare a few dollars - just look under the sofa cushion or car seats and you'll probably find a bunch of spare money you didn't know you had. Skip that mocha twice this week, or skip that stop at McDonald's once. . .  there's a ten dollar bill in your budget that can be put to a very good cause.

The Beebe Humane Society is a 501c3 non-profit organization serving the White County area of Arkansas. The Beebe Humane Society began in February of 2003. A few concerned citizens in the community of Beebe wanted to help the animals in the area and at the local shelter. Since then the Humane Society has expanded beyond anyone's dreams.

We are the only Humane Society that will step outside the city limits in White County and help county animals. We cover cruelty, abuse and neglect calls on a daily basis.

The Beebe Humane Society is currently under construction. They desperately need assistance funding this task. If you can help the Beebe Humane Society by donating, your kind gesture is tax deductible and greatly appreciated. Learn how to donate here.

The Humane Society does not yet have a real "shelter" facility and is operated in limited quarters and with the generous help of a few foster homes in the area. Due to the size of the area we cover and the limited people and space we have available we usually stay overly full.

We are always grateful for one more foster home!

We work very hard to give each and every animal in our care the best chance at a new, loving home. We post all animals to the websites. We show adoptable animals to the public each and every weekend. We do our best to screen new homes and ensure that animals are going into a situation where they will be loved, well cared for, and treated with respect.

Unfortunately in this day and time the reality is: there are too many animals. Even though we would like to be, we are not a no-kill humane society. With aggressive spay/neuter laws and public education we hope to reach that goal. Currently our euthanasia rate is only 6%. What this means is that 6% of the animals that we take in are humanely put to sleep. This does include aggressive, sick, or otherwise unadoptable animals.

The Beebe Humane Society receives no city or county funding. We are currently operating without the assistance of grants. We are run strictly out of pocket and from adoption fees and public donations. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to help with this important and heart-felt work.
